MILPITAS, Calif. – Nov. 16, 2011 – Aryaka, provider of the world’s first cloud-based WAN optimization and application acceleration solution, today announced the results of a survey of 110 IT and cloud professionals ranging from C-level executives to Senior Networking Managers conducted among 5,000 attendees at the recent Cloud Computing EXPO 2011 in Santa Clara, CA. Results indicate offshore development (30%) tied to continued global expansion is driving further adoption of cloud computing, in addition to 24X7 support (18%) and call centers (12%). 49% of respondents said that the need for successful and timely application development specifically was pushing their companies into new geographies, mainly Asia (55%), Australia (26%), South America (26%) and Eastern Europe (25%).
Cloud Expo attendees described production applications (39%) as the top reason why they use cloud services, followed by core business applications (36%), storage (33%) and disaster recovery initiatives (29%). Employees complained most about slow and poor-performing file sharing applications (36%). Issues with Exchange (email) (29%), special applications (VDI, SVN, PDM) (24%) were ranked second and third among respondents of the survey.
