John Metz is a Venture Partner for Saints Capital, focused primarily on cybersecurity and infrastructure software. Mr. Metz joined Saints Capital after a 30-year technology investment banking career. He most recently ran the cybersecurity and infrastructure software investment banking efforts at Jefferies.

Mr. Metz spent most of his career with Credit Suisse, where he was an early member of the team under Frank Quattrone. Throughout his career, his focus has been on cloud and communications infrastructure, infrastructure software, and cybersecurity.

In his 30 years as a technology banker Mr. Metz has led over 30 technology IPO’s, and advised on over $200 billion in mergers and acquisitions and over $2 billion in private placements. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Silicon Valley Association of Startup Executives.

Mr. Metz has advised on some of the industry’s most seminal technology M&A transactions in recent decades, including Dell’s leveraged buyout, Dell’s acquisition of EMC, HP’s sale of its Chinese enterprise division and Western Digital’s acquisition of Sandisk. He has also helped lead IPO’s for Crowdstrike, VMWare, Palo Alto Networks, Arista Networks, SentinelOne, Proofpoint, Sailpoint and others.
