SK Broadband expands portfolio to include Aryaka’s cloud-based WAN as-a-Service and Application Acceleration services for its enterprise customers

Aryaka®, the leading WAN as-a-Service company, announced today that it has entered into a partnership with SK Broadband (SKB) to augment SKB’s enterprise networking capabilities to serve globally distributed enterprises.

SK Broadband, the second largest telecommunication service provider in Korea, provides Internet broadband, IPTV, and fixed-line telephony services. SKB also provides a number of enterprise services, including metro Ethernet, domestic and International Private Leased Lines (IPLC and MPLS), and data center collocation services.

The partnership with Aryaka provides SKB customers with a cloud-based alternative to traditional enterprise long-haul private networking solutions. Since Aryaka’s WAN as-a-Service portfolio is delivered as an on-demand SaaS service, enterprises needing to quickly connect to a branch office, a remote partner site, a new manufacturing site, or popular enterprise SaaS applications, just to name a few common use cases, can deploy a high-speed, private, secure, and optimized connection within minutes or hours, rather than weeks or months, as with traditional solutions.

The combined power of the two companies’ enterprise networking assets effectively leapfrogs the network and communications infrastructure issues that many businesses face when connecting to distant locations, such as slow network speeds, poor application and cloud services access, and low quality of last-mile connections. SKB customers will now have the advantage of accelerated traffic between branch offices, improved application performance for remote and mobile workers, and faster access to SaaS and IP-based applications – all in a fully managed cloud-based service.

“As more businesses expand internationally, delivering applications and data quickly and reliably to their branch offices as well as remote and mobile users is no longer a luxury, but an absolute imperative,” said ChangSeok Shin, Head of the Corporate Business Division, SK Broadband. “Our partnership with Aryaka ensures that SK Broadband meets and exceeds this need of our customers as they navigate through this new cloud-based economy.”

The partnership will also provide SKB with an extended global footprint, since SKB will be able to leverage its own infrastructure assets within Aryaka’s global network of distributed Points of Presence (POPs). SKB customers now have access to Aryaka’s dedicated L2 private core network and accelerated access to data, application, and cloud services though regional POPs in Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, to name only a few, as well as global POPs in such locations as San Jose, Chicago, Miami, Sau Paulo, Johannesburg, London, Dubai, and Bangalore.

“SK Broadband is one of the most forward-thinking networking providers in Asia,” said Mark Fogel, VP of Global Service Provider Alliances for Aryaka. “We are thrilled about this new partnership because it combines the innovation, technological assets, and entrepreneurial spirit of our two companies, as well as solving the business and technology challenges of our customers. APAC is a key strategic region for Aryaka, and we believe this partnership will help both Aryaka and SK Broadband serve a growing global customer base.”
