SAN MATEO, Calif. – August 4, 2020 – Aryaka®, the Cloud-First WAN company delivering the #1 managed SD-WAN solution, today announced it is ramping up its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts with generous donations to ChildFund International and new Green and Women in Tech initiatives.

It Starts with the Children

ChildFund’s mission is to help deprived, excluded and vulnerable children have the capacity to improve their lives and the opportunity to become young adults, parents and leaders who bring lasting and positive change in their communities. The organization promotes societies whose individuals and institutions participate in valuing, protecting, and advancing the worth and rights of children.

“As corporate citizens, we all need to do our part for the community and society regardless of our size, geographical location or business focus,” said Matt Carter, CEO at Aryaka. “At Aryaka, this has been a constant reflection of our corporate values. We are humbled to participate in and contribute to causes such as ChildFund, which are near and dear to our hearts.”

Aryaka believes society at large cannot make progress without education. And children are the bedrock of society. The company partnered with ChildFund because one of its missions is to educate underprivileged children, and that aligns strongly with the company’s corporate and cultural values.

To date, Aryaka has pledged $50,000 to support ChildFund’s education programming for underprivileged children and youth in India.

Specifically, funds will be used to:

  • Establish SMART classes at three government schools in slum/semi urban areas of Bangalore
  • Establish a SPLASH Center in the neighboring area to support these three schools
  • Facilitate four engagement opportunities in and around Bangalore, India, as well as two remote engagement opportunities, exclusively for Aryaka employees.

The Green Initiative

Last year, Aryaka’s Indian headquarters implemented an initiative to reduce kitchen and breakroom waste. This included eliminating paper cups, plates, plastic utensils and more, ensuring all kitchen supplies are reusable. The U.S. headquarters is in the process of adopting a similar strategy.

The Women in Tech Initiative

This year also saw the formation of Aryaka’s Women in Tech Initiative, which consists of a group of employees that share a drive to reach out to and collaborate with women in tech organizations around the world. The team is currently building an internal mentorship program and developing a supportive platform for women to network, organize and collaborate on shared interests.

“I am thrilled with the progress we have made with our CSR efforts over the past 12 months,” said April January, Chief of Staff at Aryaka. “Working with ChildFund to bring our organizations together has been a wonderful experience, and I look forward to a continued partnership over the coming years. Through our green initiative, we’ve already saved 185,000 pieces of waste by implementing a no paper cups policy within the company. And our Women in Tech initiative has spurred numerous meet ups and requests for special guests to address the group in the coming months.  I can’t wait to see where our efforts will lead us in the coming year.”

In addition to its partnership with ChildFund, Aryaka is also working together with several other charitable corporations including Second Harvest Food Bank, Family Giving Tree, Shanti Bhavan Children’s Project, Tamahar, Parents Association of Persons with Cerebral Palsy & Associated Disorders, and Colors of Life.
