JOB DUTIES

Develop features, implement network protocols, and use algorithms to create networking solutions. Write and review design documents, implement designs, and engage in feature specification. Develop software applications. Troubleshoot complex IT server and application issues. Design and code critical system projects. Conduct software and systems test and debugging. Conduct investigation and recommendation of alternative techniques and efficiency improvements on network issues. Develop scripts and software with features such as reuse, low-maintenance, reliability, and extensibility. Ensure work product includes in-source and supporting documentation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems or related technical field plus 48 months’ experience in occupations involving software engineering.

EDUCATION OR BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE TO INCLUDE

  1. Programming in C in real-time and embedded environments with memory and time constraints;
  2. IP Suite of protocols including IP, UDP, and TCP and corresponding applications for network monitoring, management, enhanced logging, and archiving;
  3. Experience in control and forwarding path of networking routing/switching appliances including NPU and Cisco Aggregation Services Router (ASR);
  4. QoS, CoS, Linux, and VxWorks;
  5. Experience implementing networking protocols including SNMP, Netflow, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS;
  6. Scripting in Shell, Python, and TCL; and,
  7. Experience in analyzing and troubleshooting networking issues from production and QA setup.
