Aryaka just recently published its fourth annual global State of the WAN report, a global survey exploring the challenges and opportunities presented to IT network managers around their wide area network (WAN). To find out more about the report and its findings, VMblog spoke with the company’s VP of Product and Solutions Marketing, David Ginsburg.

According to Aryaka, as enterprises continue to shift workloads to the cloud and increasingly rely on SaaS apps, IT teams are spending more time trying to address the associated performance challenges. And while, for now, connecting remote and mobile workers to the SD-WAN is the biggest time suck for IT teams surveyed, Aryaka reports that the amount of time spent on cloud access more than doubled from 20% in 2019, to 42% in 2020.

AT&T has achieved the top spot in the 2019 US carrier managed SD-WAN services leaderboard benchmark. The annual listing from Vertical Systems Group named AT&T, Hughes, Verizon, CenturyLink, Windstream, Aryaka and Comcast, as the top seven SD-WAN service providers in the US.

Application performance, impacted by network complexity at the edge and in the cloud, is the key enterprise concern this year for organizations implementing SD-WAN, according to Aryaka.
