At the same time, history tells us that times of uncertainty like the Great Recession often give birth to new ways of thinking and doing things and plant the seeds for companies that challenge the status quo.

In other cases, centennial events like the pandemic accelerate trends by a magnitude of order that was prior unthinkable.
